Attorney-supervised preparation
Texas-specific forms for Harris, Dallas & Tarrant Counties
48–72 hour turnaround
Credit applies toward full representation

Every document prepared under the supervision of a licensed Texas attorney. We are not a self-service software tool — we are a live law firm with real oversight, Texas county expertise, and your accuracy as our priority.

Not a template generator.
Not a legal chatbot.

National template services give you a form and let you figure out the rest. We give you a document that has been reviewed by someone who understands Texas Family Code, Harris County local rules, and what a judge actually expects to see when papers are filed.

Our Document Preparation service is built for Texans who know what they need and don't need a full attorney-client relationship to get there — but who still want the confidence that a licensed professional has reviewed their paperwork before it's submitted to a court.

Your document prep fee applies toward full representation.

If you start with document preparation and later decide you need an attorney in your corner, 100% of what you paid here credits toward your Stage 1 retainer with TDCL. You are never starting over. You are building toward the representation you need — at your own pace.

More than a filled-in form.

Every document preparation order includes the same standard of care — regardless of which document you select.

Attorney-Supervised Draft

Your document is prepared by attorney-trained staff and reviewed by our supervising Texas attorney before delivery. Not a software output — a human-prepared document.

County-Specific Formatting

We prepare your documents for the correct Texas county — Harris, Dallas, or Tarrant — including local rule compliance and proper caption formatting.

Structured Intake Questionnaire

You complete a detailed questionnaire that captures exactly what we need. No back-and-forth confusion — we ask the right questions upfront.

Secure Document Delivery

Your completed document is delivered via secure digital delivery within 48–72 hours, in both Word and PDF format, ready to review and file. Court filing fees are not included and are the client's responsibility.

One Round of Revisions

If your completed questionnaire contained information that needs clarification or minor correction, we include one revision pass at no additional charge.

Credit Toward Representation

Your full document prep fee applies toward a TDCL engagement retainer if you choose full representation within 90 days of document delivery.

Before you get started.

No — and that distinction matters. Document preparation is not legal representation. We prepare documents based on the information you provide through our questionnaire. We do not advise you on legal strategy, represent you in court, or form an attorney-client relationship through this service. If your situation requires legal counsel, we will tell you plainly — and we offer full representation at every tier. The document prep fee you've paid will credit toward that engagement.
Online document services use national templates and automated software. TDCL is a live Texas law firm. Your documents are prepared by attorney-trained staff who understand Texas Family Code, reviewed by a licensed Texas attorney, and formatted for the specific county where your case will be filed — Harris, Dallas, or Tarrant. We also offer a direct path to full representation if your situation becomes more complex, with your document prep fee credited toward your retainer.
It happens — situations that appear straightforward can become contested. If that happens, we encourage you to contact us immediately. We can engage you as a full representation client at the appropriate tier, and your document preparation fee will be credited in full toward your Stage 1 retainer. You will not start over and you will not lose what you've already paid.
Standard turnaround is 48–72 business hours after we receive your completed questionnaire. The clock starts when we receive your questionnaire — not when you place your order. Incomplete or contradictory questionnaire responses may require a follow-up from our team, which can extend that timeline.
Our current document preparation service is optimized for Harris (Houston), Dallas, and Tarrant Counties. If your matter is in a different Texas county, contact us — we will let you know whether we can accommodate your case or refer you to appropriate resources.

Important Notice — Document Preparation Is Not Legal Advice

Texas Divorce & Custody Family Law Firm PLLC provides document preparation services as a separate, limited service from its full legal representation practice. Documents are prepared based entirely on information provided by the client through our intake questionnaire. TDCL does not provide legal advice, legal strategy, or court representation through this service, and no attorney-client relationship is formed by purchasing a document preparation service.

Court filing fees, clerk fees, and any other costs associated with submitting documents to the court are separate from and not included in the document preparation fee. Filing completed documents with the appropriate court is the client's sole responsibility. TDCL does not file documents on behalf of clients through this service. For Texas e-filing, visit greenfiling.com — a state-certified e-filing service available for $3 per filing.

If your matter involves contested issues, children, significant property, domestic violence, or any circumstance requiring legal judgment, we strongly encourage you to consult with an attorney before filing any document. TDCL offers free intake consultations — call (281) 975-0278 or visit txdcfamilylaw.com/consult.
